Jordan Intercepts Iran’s Drones and Missiles Targeting Israel

 

International Desk, June 13, 2025, : Jordan has shot down dozens of drones and missiles launched by Iran targeting Israel, thwarting many of Iran’s initial objectives. According to Al Jazeera and The Times of Israel, citing Jordanian and Israeli military sources, this information has been confirmed.  

On Friday (June 13) morning, Iran launched over 100 drones toward Israel. The Israeli and Jordanian armed forces intercepted these drones mid-flight. The Israeli military stated that Iran began its drone attacks on Friday morning following an Israeli strike on Thursday (June 12) night. Jordan’s military reported that it downed several missiles and drones that entered its airspace, with sirens heard in the capital, Amman, during the operation.
Israel’s public broadcaster reported that drones approaching through Syrian airspace were intercepted. Additionally, Israel’s air force is working to neutralize unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) coming through Saudi Arabian airspace, according to Israel’s Channel 12. Social media footage showed a drone flying over Iraqi airspace, believed to be targeting Israeli-occupied territory.
Notably, on Thursday (June 12) at around 3 AM, Israel conducted an attack on Iran, killing top Iranian military leaders, including General Hossein Salami, Commander-in-Chief of the Salami Revolutionary Guard, and Mohammad Bagheri, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces. In retaliation, Iran launched its counterattack on Israel.
