Dhaka, June 23, 2025: A significant meeting is being held today, Monday, starting at 1:50 PM at the central office of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami in Moghbazar, Dhaka, between the Central Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, and the Canadian High Commissioner, H.E. Mr. Ajit Singh.
The Canadian delegation includes Ms. Siobhan Kerr, Second Secretary (Political), and Major Nesar Ahmed, Security Officer of the Canadian High Commission. Representing Jamaat-e-Islami are Central Secretary General and former MP Professor Mia Golam Parwar, former Acting Secretary General Maulana ATM Azharul Islam, Central Naib-e-Amir and former MP Professor Mojibur Rahman, former MP and Naib-e-Amir Dr. Syed Abdullah Md. Taher, Assistant Secretary General Advocate Ehsanul Mahbub Zubayer, Secretary of Central Publicity and Media Department and senior Supreme Court lawyer Advocate Matiur Rahman Akand, and Foreign Affairs Advisor to the Jamaat Amir, Professor Dr. Mahmudul Hasan Chowdhury.
