Haryana, June 16, 2025: The police recovered the mutilated body of a young model named Sheetal, also known as Simmi Chaudhary, from a canal in the Kharkhoda area of Sonipat, Haryana. The gruesome discovery of the 23-year-old model, whose throat was slit, has sparked widespread shock and concern among locals.
Sheetal, a known figure in the Haryanvi music industry, went missing while attending a music video shoot in Ahar village on June 14. According to reports, she contacted her sister Neha, informing her that her ex-boyfriend, Sunil, was attempting to forcibly take her away. Communication with Sheetal was lost shortly after, and when she failed to return home, Neha filed a missing person’s report at the Old Industrial police station.
Following an investigation, the police recovered Sheetal’s body from a canal near Khanda village. Preliminary findings indicate that this was a case of murder, with the body showing signs of severe mutilation. The body has been sent for a post-mortem at a local government hospital. The police have launched a thorough investigation to determine the motive behind the killing and identify the perpetrators. According to NDTV, a suspect named Sunil has been taken into custody.
This incident follows the recent murder of another aspiring model, Kamal Kaur, in Punjab last week, raising serious concerns about the safety of women in India.
