Dhaka, June 19, 2025: A murder case accused, SharifUL, fled from the stairs of Dhaka’s Third Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court on Thursday (June 19) after 11:30 AM. According to court sources, SharifUL was brought to the court for a witness hearing in a murder case registered at Khilgaon Police Station. After the judicial proceedings concluded at 11:39 AM, Police Constable Md. Shahidullah was escorting four accused, including SharifUL, to the court’s lockup when SharifUL suddenly attacked the constable and escaped.

Following the incident, law enforcement agencies have launched an extensive search to apprehend SharifUL. However, Additional Deputy Commissioner of the Prosecution Division, Main Uddin Chowdhury, declined to comment on the matter when approached by the media.
This is not the first such incident. On November 20, 2022, two death-row convicts, Abu Siddique Sohel and Moinul Hasan Shamim, members of the banned militant group Ansarullah Bangla Team, escaped from a Dhaka lower court premises after spraying chemicals into the eyes of police personnel. These repeated escapes from court premises raise serious concerns about the security arrangements in place.
