Dhaka, 09 June, 2025 : Safina Ahmed Taree, a 32-year-old former news anchor and BRAC Bank employee, has died under mysterious circumstances.
On Sunday, June 8, 2025, her body was recovered from Mugda Hospital in Dhaka by Hatirjheel Police Station. The body has been sent to the Dhaka Medical College (DMC) Hospital morgue for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
Citing family members, police reported that Safina Ahmed Taree previously worked as a news anchor for Channel 24 and RTV. She was most recently employed at BRAC Bank and resided with her mother and sister in Dhaka’s Eskaton area.
Mohammad Raju, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Hatirjheel Police Station, stated that Mugda Hospital authorities informed the police about the body on Sunday. The police recovered the body and sent it to DMC Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
