Trump Issues Fresh Warning to Iran: Bombing Resumed if Nuclear Weapons Pursued

U.S. President Donald Trump has once again issued a stern warning to Iran, stating during a press conference that any attempt by Iran to develop nuclear weapons would lead to renewed bombing campaigns. He also emphasized the need for the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to gain access to inspect Iran’s nuclear facilities.

Following a 12-day conflict between Israel and Iran, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei claimed victory. Trump dismissed this claim as “false and laughable,” asserting that Khamenei narrowly escaped a dire fate. In a post on Truth Social, Trump revealed that the U.S. and Israel jointly conducted strikes on three key Iranian nuclear facilities—Natanz, Esfahan, and Fordow—causing significant damage. He further claimed that the location of Khamenei’s secret hideout was known to them, but neither the U.S. nor Israel pursued his elimination

Some reports suggest that while these strikes set back Iran’s nuclear program, it was not entirely destroyed. In response, Iran has passed a law stating it will no longer cooperate with the IAEA, a decision many believe was prompted by Israel’s attacks. Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that any forced IAEA inspections would not be part of any agreement and could indicate malicious intent. He affirmed Iran’s readiness to take any measures necessary to protect its interests and people.

IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi noted that no inspections have taken place in Iran since Israel’s attacks began on June 13, 2025. He stated that resuming inspections, particularly at sites in Tehran where uranium enrichment was ongoing, is now the agency’s top priority.
