Air Force Fighter Jet Crash in Uttara: 40 Under Treatment at Burn Institute, 5 in Critical Condition

Following the crash of a Bangladesh Air Force fighter jet at Milestone School and College in Uttara, Dhaka, 40 individuals are currently receiving treatment at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery. Among them, 5 are in critical condition. This information was shared by the institute’s director, Professor Dr. Mohammad Nasir Uddin, during a press briefing on Friday (July 25).

Dr. Nasir stated that the 5 critically injured patients have been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Additionally, due to improvements in their condition, 4 to 5 patients are scheduled to be discharged on Saturday (July 26). He further noted that two students succumbed to their injuries on Friday. Of the 40 patients currently under treatment, 5 are in the ICU, 10 are in the CPR category, 10 are in the post-operative intermediate category, and 15 are in cabins.

The director also mentioned that among those on life support, two patients have shown some improvement and are now able to breathe independently. On Friday, a team of doctors from Singapore, China, and India met with the institute’s medical team to review the condition of the patients.
