Chief Adviser Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus expressed heartfelt gratitude to a 21-member delegation of doctors and nurses from Singapore, China, and India who arrived to provide specialized medical care to those injured in the plane crash at Milestone School and College in Uttara.
On Sunday (July 27), during a meeting at the state guesthouse Yamuna in Dhaka, the Chief Adviser extended his thanks. He praised their dedication and solidarity during this national crisis and highlighted the importance of international cooperation in emergency healthcare. He noted that these teams brought not only expertise but also compassion.
Dr. Muhammad Yunus said, “Their presence reflects our shared humanity and underscores the value of global partnerships in times of crisis. Many of the injured are children, and these medical teams are working tirelessly alongside local doctors to ensure emergency treatment and trauma care.”
The Chief Adviser commended the diplomatic coordination that facilitated the teams’ swift arrival and their immediate commencement of work. He assured full governmental support to ensure the success of their mission. Dr. Yunus also urged the visiting doctors to maintain long-term ties with Bangladesh, even virtually, for institutional collaboration, medical education exchange, and capacity building in the health sector.
He emphasized, “Such partnerships can lay the foundation for long-term cooperation in public health and emergency preparedness.”
The delegation included 10 doctors from Singapore, eight from China, and four from India. Also present were the Chinese Ambassador to Dhaka, Yao Wen, and the head of the Singapore Mission.
