Two cocktail bombs exploded near the central office of Ganosanhati Andolan in the Hatirpool area of Dhaka on Monday, June 30, 2025, around 8:00 PM. In response to the incident, the political party immediately organized a protest march from their Hatirpool office through Kachabazar to Katabon Mor to condemn the attack.
Speaking after the march, Ganosanhati Andolan’s Executive Coordinator, Abul Hasan Rubel, stated that the explosion, occurring on the eve of the first anniversary of the July uprising, was an attempt by anti-uprising forces to create fear. “The people are not intimidated by such acts. The fallen Awami League continues to conspire to thwart the aspirations of the masses. This cocktail bomb explosion is part of a deliberate effort to instill panic in the country,” he said. Rubel described the attack as intentional, noting its timing ahead of the July uprising anniversary, and criticized the interim government for failing to deliver expected progress on justice and law enforcement. He added that the law and order situation in the country remains unstable.
The protest march was attended by key party members, including Political Council member Taslima Akhter, Editorial Board members Bacchu Bhuiya and Deepak Kumar Roy, central members Alif Dewan and Aparajita Chand, Student Federation Central General Secretary Saikat Arif, and Dhaka Metropolitan Student Federation President Alamin Rahman, among others.
