Discussion Meeting and Prayer Gathering Organized by Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh, Dhaka Metropolitan


A discussion meeting and prayer gathering was held today from 3:15 PM to 5:30 PM at Jamia Madania Baridhara Madrasha in Gulshan, organized by Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh, Dhaka Metropolitan. The event was held in memory of the martyrs of the 2013 Shapla Square massacre, the 2021 massacres in Brahmanbaria and Chattogram (Hathazari), and the brutal killings of students and civilians during the July-August 2024 uprising, perpetrated by what was described as an anti-Islamic, oppressive, and fascist government.

The event was attended by prominent leaders, including: 1. Allama Shah Muhibullah Babunagari, Ameer, Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh 2. Allama Shaykh Sajidur Rahman, Secretary General 3. Maulana Junayed Al Habib, President, Dhaka Metropolitan 4. Maulana Muhammad Mamunul Haque, Secretary, Dhaka Metropolitan 5. Maulana Muhiuddin Rabbani 6. Maulana Mir Idris Nadvi, Joint Secretary General, Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh 7. Maulana Ahmad Ali Kashemi 8. Maulana Abdul Hamid Madhupuri 9. Maulana Azizul Haque Islamabadi, Organizational Secretary, Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh 10. Mufti Sakhaowat Hossain, Assistant Secretary General, Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh 11. Maulana Rakibul Islam Faruqi, Joint Secretary General, Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh Approximately 500-600 members were also present at the gathering. Key Speech:
In his speech, Secretary General Maulana Sajidur Rahman strongly opposed the decision to establish a UN Human Rights Commission office in Dhaka. He stated that the move poses a threat to the country’s independence, sovereignty, and Islamic values, as it could be used by Western powers to impose their culture and values. He urged the government to reconsider and withdraw from this decision, concluding his remarks with a call to protect national and religious interests.
