The Election Commission (EC) Secretariat of Bangladesh has transferred 71 election officers across the country. On Sunday (July 27), an order regarding these transfers was issued, signed by Mohammad Shahidur Rahman, Assistant Secretary of the EC Secretariat, under the directive of the President.
The order stipulates that the transferred officers must be released from their current workplaces by August 3, failing which they will be deemed released with immediate effect on August 4.
Most of the 71 transferred officers are Upazila or Thana Election Officers. Additionally, Md. Mosharraf Hossain, Assistant Director of the Election Training Institute in Dhaka, has been appointed as Assistant Secretary at the EC Secretariat. Meanwhile, Sayeda Sadika Sultana, Election Officer of Adarsha Sadar Upazila in Cumilla, has been appointed as Assistant Director at the Election Training Institute in Dhaka.
In a separate development, Md. Mofizur Rahman, Chairman of the Non-Government Teachers’ Registration and Certification Authority (NTRCA), has been transferred and appointed as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs. Conversely, Md. Aminul Islam, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Food, has been appointed as the new Chairman of NTRCA. These orders, issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Sunday (July 27), take effect immediately.
