Holy Ashura to Inspire Humanity with Strength and Courage for Truth and Justice

Chief Adviser Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus has said that the holy Ashura will inspire humanity with strength and courage to establish truth and justice in the face of oppression and injustice.

In a message on the occasion of holy Ashura, he expressed these sentiments.

Professor Muhammad Yunus said, “On this mournful day of holy Ashura, I pay my deepest respects to Hazrat Imam Husayn (RA), the beloved grandson of the greatest Prophet and Messenger Hazrat Muhammad (SAW), and all those who were tragically martyred in the plains of Karbala.” He further stated, “Islam is a religion of truth, justice, and peace. To uphold these noble ideals of Islam, on the 10th of Muharram in 61 Hijri, Hazrat Imam Husayn (RA), along with his family members and close companions, were martyred in the plains of Karbala at the hands of the treacherous soldiers of Yazid.” The Chief Adviser added, “The sacrifice of these brave soldiers of Islam, who stood against the injustice and oppression of tyrants, will remain eternally radiant in the history of the world.” Highlighting that beyond the tragic events of Karbala, holy Ashura is one of the most virtuous days in Islamic history, he noted that significant events, including the creation of the universe, occurred on this day. He mentioned that according to Hadith, the Prophet (SAW) emphasized observing two fasts on the occasion of holy Ashura.
Professor Yunus called upon everyone to engage in virtuous deeds to seek closeness to Almighty Allah, embracing the significance of this sacred day. He also prayed for unity, solidarity, and continued progress of the Muslim Ummah while striving to establish equality, justice, and peace in society on this day of holy Ashura.
