Housewife Burned to Death with Kerosene: Killer Husband Arrested

In Sitakunda, Chattogram, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested Moslem Uddin, the fugitive husband accused of pouring kerosene on his wife and burning her to death. The arrest was made on Thursday, July 24, in the Joyar Mor area of Kotwali Thana, Faridpur district.

The victim, a housewife, was a resident of Dakshin Sonapahar village under Jorarganj Thana in Chattogram. Twelve years ago, she married Moslem Uddin according to Islamic Shariah. However, since the marriage, Moslem Uddin allegedly subjected her to physical and mental abuse over dowry demands.

On June 14, Moslem Uddin and his family pressured the victim to collect money from her family to purchase a CNG vehicle. When she failed to provide the money, they poured kerosene on her and set her ablaze. Hearing her screams, neighbors rescued her and rushed her to Chattogram Medical College Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries during treatment.
Senior Assistant Director of Chattogram RAB, ARM Mozaffar Hossain, stated that the victim’s father, Nurul Afchar, filed a case at Sitakunda Thana regarding the murder. Following an operation, the accused was apprehended and handed over to Sitakunda Thana for legal action
