Israeli Attacks in Gaza Push Death Toll Past 60,000

In the past 24 hours, Israeli forces' attacks in Gaza have resulted in the deaths of 113 Palestinians and injured 637 others, according to the Gaza Health Ministry. As of Tuesday, July 29, 2025, the total death toll from Israeli assaults since October 2023 has reached approximately 60,034.

The ministry reported that among the casualties, over 47% are women and children, with 9,782 women and 18,592 children killed. In the last 24 hours alone, 22 Palestinians were killed and over 199 injured while seeking humanitarian aid. Since May 27, 1,179 people have been killed and 7,957 injured while attempting to access aid.

On January 19, 2025, Israel declared a ceasefire in Gaza under pressure from the United States and mediating countries. However, within two months, military operations resumed on March 18, resulting in at least 8,867 Palestinian deaths and 33,829 injuries. Since March 2, Israel has blocked all humanitarian aid access to Gaza, triggering a severe humanitarian crisis.
Notably, in November 2024, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for military operations in Gaza. Additionally, a genocide case against Israel has been filed at the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
