Dhaka, July 16, 2025: The National Citizen’s Party (NCP) blocked Shahbagh intersection in the capital to protest the recent attack on their convoy in Gopalganj. On Wednesday afternoon, activists from Dhaka University, Bangladesh Democratic Student Organization (BDSO), and NCP participated in the blockade.
During the protest, the demonstrators voiced their anger with slogans such as “Revolutionaries’ action, direct action; NCP’s action, direct action; Why the attack in Gopalganj? Interim, give us answers; Why are our brothers injured? Give us answers; Mujibism Murdabad, Revolution Zindabad; How long will Gopalganj’s roses burn us?” The blockade caused severe traffic congestion in Shahbagh and surrounding areas. The protesters announced that the blockade would continue until 6 PM.
