Dhaka, August 30, 2025 – The Dhaka American Women’s Club (DAWC), a vibrant community for women in Dhaka since the 1970s, has officially affiliated with the Federation of American Women’s Clubs Overseas (FAWCO), a globally recognized non-governmental organization established in 1931. FAWCO connects over 50 member clubs across more than 30 countries, focusing on education, environmental issues, human rights, and health.This affiliation opens new avenues for DAWC members, granting access to FAWCO’s international programs, advocacy platforms, and global conferences. The partnership enhances DAWC’s mission of fostering friendship, cultural exchange, and philanthropy while connecting its members to a worldwide network of women.
“We are thrilled to extend our community beyond Dhaka through FAWCO’s global network,” said Lesley Ahmed, President of DAWC. “This affiliation allows our members to collaborate globally while continuing to strengthen our local community.”
DAWC members will now engage in international conversations, bringing fresh ideas and opportunities to Dhaka while contributing to FAWCO’s mission. The club remains committed to its decades-long tradition of creating a welcoming space for women and their families through social, cultural, and charitable activities.
