The Election Commission (EC) of Bangladesh has finalized the roadmap for the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election, which may be announced on Thursday (August 28) afternoon. The boundaries for the 300 parliamentary constituencies will be finalized, with a gazette notification set to be published on September 15. Additionally, a Geographical Information System (GIS) map will be released on September 30.

According to sources from the EC Secretariat, the deadline for the preliminary registration of new political parties is set for September 14, with the final notification to be issued on September 30. The EC will send the Code of Conduct for political parties and candidates, along with the Representation of the People Order (RPO), for vetting by the Law Ministry by August 31 after review and translation into Bangla.

The EC plans to finalize the voter list by November 30. Notably, ballots will be sent to prisoners two weeks before the election, granting them the right to vote. Furthermore, the EC will initiate dialogues with civil society, media, and stakeholders by the end of September to prepare for the upcoming general election.
