In a bizarre real-life incident inspired by dramatic movie love stories, a young man in a fit of frustration cut the power supply to an entire village after his girlfriend’s phone remained busy. The incident, which has gone viral on social media, shows the lover climbing an electric pole and severing high-tension wires, plunging the village into darkness.

In the viral video, the young man is seen using a large metal tool to cut through the power lines one by one. The exact location of the incident could not be confirmed. The video sparked a flood of reactions online. In 2022, a man in Ganeshpur village, Purnia district of Bihar, India, would cut the village’s power supply every evening to secretly meet his girlfriend in the dark. While surrounding areas had electricity, the village would remain in darkness for two to three hours. The mystery was eventually uncovered when villagers caught him in the act.
