Dhaka, August 5, 2025: The National Conference Party (NCP) has welcomed the ‘July Declaration’ announced by Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus. NCP convener Nahid Islam expressed this sentiment in an immediate reaction to journalists following the declaration’s reading on Tuesday afternoon (August 5).
Nahid Islam stated, “We welcome the July Declaration. We will review it thoroughly and provide a formal response later.”
The July Declaration was read out by Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus at the South Plaza of the National Parliament Building. The declaration grants state and constitutional recognition to the July Mass Uprising.
The declaration specifies that it will be incorporated into the schedule of the reformed constitution under the government elected in the upcoming election. It also recognizes all martyrs of the July Mass Uprising as national heroes.
