Gazipur, August 11, 2025 – A schoolgirl in Sreepur, Gazipur, was allegedly gang-raped after being drugged with a cold drink, with the perpetrators recording the incident on video. The victim’s father filed a written complaint at the Sreepur Police Station on Saturday night (August 9), which was later registered as a case.
The incident occurred in Kaoraid Moral Para village of Kaoraid Union in Sreepur. The accused individuals are identified as Shafiqul Islam Haidar (45), Jasim Uddin (30), Bablu Mia (25), and Sabbir Ahmed (20), all residents of the same village.
Sreepur Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Abdul Barik confirmed the complaint and ongoing investigation.
According to case details, the victim, a student at a local school, sought shelter at a shop due to rain while returning from school about 20 days ago. The accused allegedly mixed a sedative with a cold drink and gave it to her, rendering her unconscious. They then took her to a nearby Gajari forest and gang-raped her, recording the entire incident. The perpetrators threatened to release the video and kill her if she disclosed the incident to anyone. They continued to assault her multiple times by using the video as leverage.
Initially, the victim, out of fear, did not inform her family. However, the accused shared the video on various Facebook Messenger groups, which came to the attention of the victim’s brother. She then revealed the full incident to her family. Following this, the accused began threatening the victim’s family. On Saturday, the victim’s father lodged a formal complaint with the police.
The victim’s brother stated, “Since the incident became public, the accused have been threatening us in various ways. I demand exemplary justice for this crime.”
Local resident Alamgir Hossain Moral commented, “These individuals are drug addicts who consume drugs during the day and engage in theft at night. They gang-raped the girl while under the influence and later spread the video on social media. They are criminals, and if they are not punished severely, our mothers and sisters will not feel safe leaving their homes in the future.”
OC Mohammad Abdul Barik added, “A case has been filed following the complaint, and police operations are underway to arrest the accused.”
