Weapons and Ammunition Recovered from Abandoned Zamindar House in Rangpur

Pirgachha, Rangpur: Police have recovered a single-barrel shotgun and five rounds of cartridges from the abandoned Itakumari Zamindar House in Pirgachha, Rangpur. The recovery was made around 4:00 AM on Monday, August 4, from the abandoned kachari (office) room of the Zamindar House.

According to police sources, Sub-Inspectors (SIs) Md. Safikul Islam Akand and Abdur Razzaque were conducting a special anti-narcotics operation in the area. Around 3:30 AM, they received a tip-off about a stockpile of phensedyl and illegal activities taking place in a deserted building at the Itakumari Zamindar House. Upon informing the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Pirgachha Police Station, Noor-e-Alam Siddiqui, two night patrol teams jointly conducted a raid on the location. During the operation, the police recovered a 12-bore single-barrel shotgun and five rounds of cartridges from the abandoned kachari room. The seized items were documented and taken into police custody.

OC Noor-e-Alam Siddiqui stated that no arrests have been made in connection with this incident so far, and legal procedures regarding the recovered weapons and ammunition are ongoing.

Notably, on July 27, the Pirgachha police had previously recovered a shotgun and five rounds of ammunition in an abandoned state from the window shade of the Kaikuri Union Health and Family Welfare Center.
