A devastating 6.0 magnitude earthquake struck eastern Afghanistan, claiming at least 2,205 lives and injuring 3,640 people, while damaging over 8,000 homes. The disaster has led to a severe shortage of food, water, shelter, and emergency medical supplies, raising fears of a humanitarian crisis. In response, Bangladesh has dispatched urgent humanitarian aid to support the affected Afghan population.

According to a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Friday, September 5, a Bangladesh Air Force transport aircraft departed for Kabul at 8:00 AM carrying 11.227 tons of relief supplies. The aid includes tents, blankets, winter clothing, drinking water, dry food, clothing, biscuits, milk powder, noodles, and medicines. The aircraft is scheduled to return to Bangladesh on the same day after handing over the relief materials.

Brigadier General Md. Alimul Amin, Director General of the Operations and Planning Directorate of the Armed Forces Division, briefed the media before the aircraft's departure. Senior officials from the Armed Forces Division, Bangladesh Air Force, representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and members of various media outlets were present at the event.
