The Palestinian Ambassador to Bangladesh, Yousef S.Y. Ramadan, met with the Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, in a courtesy visit and discussion session.
The meeting took place on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at noon at Dr. Shafiqur Rahman’s office in Basundhara, Dhaka.
The Palestinian Ambassador began by inquiring about the health of the Jamaat Ameer and prayed for his full recovery.
During the discussion, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman spoke about Palestine, stating, “Like the global Muslim Ummah, we have a deep connection with Palestine, and this bond will remain unbreakable, InshaAllah. In the past, the oppressed Muslims of Palestine have faced repeated atrocities. Over the past two years, Israeli bombings have martyred approximately 65,000 Palestinians, including women and children, and left around 170,000 severely injured.”
He further said, “Israel, an enemy of humanity, is preventing food from entering Gaza, leading to famine. Thousands of Palestinians, including children, are dying of starvation.”
Dr. Rahman added, “Recently, Israel openly announced its intention to occupy Gaza and has devised a sinister plan to forcibly displace around 1 million Palestinians. This blueprint for Gaza’s occupation is a blatant manifestation of Israeli aggression, completely contrary to international law, human rights, and justice. Israel’s brutal occupation poses a serious threat not only to Palestine but to global peace, stability, and humanity. I call upon the United Nations, OIC, and the peace-loving world to take immediate action to stop Israel’s destructive plan to occupy Gaza City and forcibly displace Palestinians.”
The Palestinian Ambassador expressed gratitude, stating, “On behalf of the Palestinian people, I extend heartfelt thanks for the meaningful love, support, and cooperation from the people of Bangladesh. I also hope that Bangladesh, particularly Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, will continue its significant support, assistance, and cooperation for the Palestinian people in the future, InshaAllah.”
Present at the meeting with the Jamaat Ameer were Naib-e-Ameer and former MP Dr. Syed Abdullah Md. Taher, Assistant Secretary General and Head of the Central Publicity and Media Department Ehsanul Mahbub Zubair, among others.
