United Student Alliance Aims to Build a Dream Campus with All Students

On the final day of campaigning for the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) election, Sadiq Kayem, the Vice-President (VP) candidate from the United Student Alliance, addressed the media at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Dhaka University, on August 7. The alliance, supported by Chhatra Shibir, held a press conference on Sunday night in front of Madhu’s Canteen at Dhaka University to discuss the overall election scenario and their campaign efforts.

During the press conference, leaders of the United Student Alliance spoke about the DUCSU election, their campaign strategies, and their vision for the university. Sadiq Kayem, the VP candidate, emphasized their commitment to reaching out to all students. “We have tried to connect with every student. Our core message is that the students’ voices are our voices, and their aspirations are our aspirations,” he said.

Sadiq Kayem pledged that, if elected, the alliance would work to improve the academic environment of the university. “We have outlined our plans for the next month in our manifesto. We will work on our principles, enhance the academic environment, introduce teacher evaluations, and improve library facilities,” he added. The VP candidate also promised to ensure a safe campus for female students, stating that their struggle would continue until a secure environment is established for female students. The alliance’s General Secretary (GS) candidate, SM Forhad, highlighted the enthusiastic participation of students during their campaign. “We have worked to share our manifesto with the students and have received spontaneous participation from them,” Forhad said during the press conference. He further emphasized their goal: “We want to build a dream campus by uniting students from all groups and ideologies.”
The DUCSU election is scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, with voting to take place from 8 AM to 4 PM without any breaks. Sunday was the final day for election campaigning.
