Vandalism of Magistrate’s Vehicle During Eviction Drive in Noakhali

In Noakhali’s Maijdee town, a mobile court operation led to an attack and vandalism of an executive magistrate’s vehicle. The incident occurred around 11:30 AM on Monday, September 1, 2025, in front of Noakhali Zilla School. Protesters also blocked the road, disrupting traffic. The situation has now been brought under control.

According to local sources, a mobile court, led by Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Md. Fahim Hasan Khan, conducted an eviction drive targeting illegal structures along the roadsides in the town. During the operation, several illegally parked vehicles were impounded. Angered by this, vehicle owners and drivers blocked the main road in Maijdee and vandalized the magistrate’s vehicle. Upon receiving the news, multiple teams from the army and police arrived at the scene and brought the situation under control by around 1:00 PM.

District administration sources stated that designated parking areas have been allocated for buses, private cars, and microbuses in Noakhali. A specific section of the new Noakhali bus stand has been assigned for private cars and microbuses. However, drivers continue to park their vehicles haphazardly on the main road in front of Noakhali Zilla School, causing traffic congestion across the town. Despite repeated warnings, they have ignored regulations and continued parking indiscriminately.
Confirming the incident, Noakhali Deputy Commissioner Khandaker Istiaq Ahmed said that law enforcement personnel responded promptly to restore order. Legal action against those involved in the vandalism is currently in process.
