Dhaka, 28 May, 2025 : Weather researcher Mostafa Kamal Palash from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada, has forecasted moderate to heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms in several districts of Bangladesh by tonight.
In a verified Facebook post on Wednesday morning (May 28), Palash stated that due to a well-marked low-pressure system in the Bay of Bengal, multiple spells of moderate to heavy rainfall with thunderstorms are expected between 2 PM and midnight in the Sylhet division, particularly in Sunamganj and Sylhet districts, where heavy to very heavy rainfall is anticipated.
He further noted that districts in the Mymensingh division, including Netrokona and Sherpur, and in the Rangpur division, such as Kurigram, Gaibandha, Lalmonirhat, and Rangpur, may experience light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms by midnight.
Additionally, Palash indicated a likelihood of heavy rainfall passing over Dhaka city tonight.
