Washington, June 23, 2025 – U.S. President Donald Trump announced a landmark ceasefire agreement between Iran and Israel, signaling an end to hostilities between the two nations. In a post shared on his social media platform, Truth Social, on Monday, Trump revealed that both countries have agreed to a full ceasefire, effective within six hours, allowing them to conclude their ongoing military operations.
According to Trump, the initial ceasefire will last for 12 hours, after which the conflict will be officially declared over. Iran will initiate the ceasefire, followed by Israel formally joining 12 hours later. After a total of 24 hours, the conflict, referred to as the "12-day war," will be recognized globally as concluded.
In his statement, Trump emphasized that both parties are expected to maintain peaceful and respectful conduct during the ceasefire. "We assume everything will proceed as planned—and it absolutely must," he wrote, congratulating both Israel and Iran for their "courage, patience, and intelligence" in reaching this agreement.
Highlighting the significance of the deal, Trump noted that the conflict could have escalated, potentially devastating the Middle East. "This war could have dragged on for years, but it didn’t, and it never will!" he stated.
Concluding his message, Trump wrote, "God Bless Israel, God Bless Iran, God Bless the Middle East, God Bless the United States of America, and God Bless the World!"
The announcement has been met with cautious optimism, with global leaders and observers closely monitoring the implementation of this historic agreement.
