Three Arrested in Gazipur for Robbery at Plastic Industries

Police have arrested three individuals in connection with a robbery at Apan Plastic Industries in the Gacha area of Gazipur. The arrests were made on Sunday night (June 29), and authorities recovered weapons and some stolen items used in the crime.

The arrested individuals are identified as Md. Kawsar Mia (35) from Majishail village, Chunaru Ghat Thana, Habiganj; Sabbir Hossain Rajib (25) from Chomdakhali village, Trishal Thana, Mymensingh; and Md. Shakhaowat Hossain alias Saikat (26) from Kumun area, Gazipur Sadar Thana.

According to Md. Aminul Islam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gacha Thana, a group of robbers looted goods worth approximately Tk 10.03 lakh from Apan Plastic Industries in the Ishwadda area on the night of June 23. Following a complaint filed by the victim, police initiated an investigation and, with the aid of information technology, apprehended the three suspects from the Jazhar area on Sunday night.

Items recovered from the suspects include a Chinese axe, switchgear, a hacksaw blade with a handle, scissors, a tester, a spanner, and six machetes. The OC further stated that the arrested individuals are active members of an organized robbery gang and have multiple cases filed against them in various police stations. Legal action is being taken against the suspects.
