Capital’s School Plane Crash: Death Toll Rises to 19, Says Fire Service

The death toll from the crash of a Bangladesh Air Force training aircraft at Milestone School and College in Uttara, Dhaka, has risen to 19, according to the Fire Service and Civil Defence. The announcement was made by the Director General of the Fire Service and Civil Defence, Brigadier General Muhammad Zahed Kamal, during a visit to the crash site on Monday afternoon (July 21).

**Nine Fire Service Units Engaged in Rescue Operations**

Nine units of the Fire Service are actively conducting rescue operations at the site. Brigadier General Zahed Kamal informed journalists that over 50 injured individuals have been rescued and sent to various hospitals for treatment. Earlier, the Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser of the interim government, Professor Dr. Sayedur Rahman, had reported 16 deaths and 70 injuries, with the injured admitted to various hospitals. Subsequently, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) updated the figures, stating that 18 people had died and 164 others were injured.
