Consider Your Study Table as a Field of Movement: Shibir President

Zahidul Islam, the central president of Islami Chhatra Shibir, emphasized that the ultimate goal is the victory of Islam. He stated that to establish Islam as a triumphant force, members of the executive council must play a historic role, urging every member to consider their study table as a field of movement.

The bi-annual Central Executive Council and Secretariat of Islami Chhatra Shibir have been restructured. Zahidul Islam made these remarks on the concluding day of the restructuring event.

The second general session of the Central Executive Council, held over two days on July 16 and 17, saw the restructuring of the committee. The session, presided over by Central President Zahidul Islam and moderated by Secretary General Nurul Islam Saddam, was inaugurated by Belayet Hossain, father of July Revolution martyr Shakil Parvez. In his inaugural speech, the Shibir president presented a 10-point demand to the interim government on the occasion of the July Revolution anniversary, including the July Charter, justice for the genocide, radical reform of the fascist system, restructuring of the education system, and student parliament elections. Subsequently, in accordance with the constitution, the results of the bi-annual by-election for the Central Executive Council were announced through direct voting by members, with 10 individuals elected as council members. The central president also nominated one member to the executive council in consultation with the council, as per the constitution. The president administered the constitutional oath to all elected and nominated members. Following this, the central president restructured the Central Secretariat in consultation with the council, assigning responsibilities to 30 members across various departments. In total, 61 individuals were elected or nominated as Central Executive Council members across the central and branch levels. In the concluding session, addressing the executive council members, Zahidul Islam said, “We must build skilled and ideologically committed manpower through training at all levels. Every member must consider their study table as a field of movement. Through modesty, piety, morality, and trustworthiness, we must continue striving to earn Allah’s satisfaction. Our ultimate goal is the victory of Islam. To establish Islam as a triumphant force, executive council members must play a historic role. Alongside this, we must always take an active role in building a harmonious and justice-based society in light of the martyrs’ dreams.”

Distinguished guests present included Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, Secretary General Professor Mia Golam Parwar, former central presidents Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan and Nurul Islam Bulbul, Manjurul Islam, and Dr. Mostafa Foysal Parvez, Secretary General of the International Islamic Federation of Student Organizations.
