Plane Crash in Uttara: Rescue Operation Concluded

Dhaka, July 21, 2025 – The rescue operation following the plane crash at the Milestone School and College campus in Uttara, Dhaka, has been officially concluded. The announcement was made around 8:30 PM on Monday, July 21, 2025.

Immediately after the crash, nine units of the Fire Service, along with members of the Army and Air Force, initiated rescue efforts. The injured were promptly transported to hospitals, including CMH, Kurmitola Hospital, Burn Institute, Dhaka Medical College, and various hospitals in Uttara.

A Fire Service unit remained stationed at the site until the wreckage of the crashed plane was cleared. All units were withdrawn from the scene by 9:10 PM. So far, the crash has claimed 20 lives, with 171 people reported injured. Detailed information about the casualties is yet to be released. On-site observations confirmed that the Fire Service’s nine units initially focused on controlling the fire, while simultaneous efforts were made to rescue the victims. The fire was brought under control by 2:25 PM. Subsequently, parts of the wreckage were removed from the school building using cranes in a phased manner.
