Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has suspended the licenses of four Umrah companies due to violations related to inadequate accommodation services for pilgrims. Additionally, several other companies have been fined for failing to meet promised service standards. This was reported by Gulf News on Friday, July 4.
According to a ministry statement, surprise field inspections revealed that some companies failed to provide the contracted quality of services, compromising the safety, comfort, and dignity of pilgrims. The ministry emphasized that these violations breach contractual agreements and fall short of the kingdom’s expected standards.
As part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 to expand and enhance religious tourism, the ministry stated that such inspections and oversight will continue to ensure compliance.
