The Kul Khani ceremony for the late Alhaj Mokbul Ahmed Chowdhury, a distinguished chemical businessman, will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, after Zuhr prayer. The ceremony will include Milad and Doa Mahfil at Baitul Falah Islamia Madrassa and Orphanage on Sher Shah Suri Road, Mohammadpur, Jami’a Islamia Wahidia Madrassa and Orphanage on Salimullah Road, and Panpara Fatema (RA) Women’s Dakhil Madrassa in Ramganj, Lakshmipur, established by the deceased.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir expressed deep grief and sorrow over the demise of Alhaj Mokbul Ahmed Chowdhury, father of Hasan Ahmed Chowdhury Kiron, Director of ATN Bangla and Chairman of Debate for Democracy. In a condolence message, he prayed for the forgiveness of the departed soul and extended heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family, relatives, admirers, and well-wishers. The funeral prayer was held in two phases, followed by the burial of the deceased at the Mohammadpur Eidgah graveyard on Tuesday night.
On Monday, September 1, 2025, Alhaj Mokbul Ahmed Chowdhury passed away at United Hospital in the capital due to a heart attack (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilayhi Raji’un). He was 85 years old at the time of his death. He is survived by his wife, two sons, one daughter, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, and numerous admirers.
