Russia to Recover Seized Assets Through Ukraine’s Territory, Says Medvedev

Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Security Council, has issued a strong response to Western countries transferring seized Russian assets to Ukraine. He stated that if these assets cannot be recovered through legal means, Russia will reclaim them "in kind" through land, property, and other tangible or intangible assets. The Russian news agency TASS reported this on Thursday (September 4).

In a post on his Telegram channel on Wednesday, Medvedev wrote that the UK recently transferred $1.3 billion in profits from Russia’s seized assets to Kyiv. He described this as tantamount to “theft” and “handing money to neo-Nazis.”Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev. However, he clarified that his statement does not pertain to the territories of Donbas and Novorossiya, as “these regions are already part of Russia.” On Tuesday, the British government announced it had provided Ukraine with $1.3 billion, derived from profits of assets seized under sanctions against Russia. Additionally, London indicated it is considering deploying troops to Kyiv if a ceasefire is implemented.
