The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Tejgaon Division has successfully recovered and returned 251 mobile phones that were lost, stolen, or snatched in various incidents.
On Thursday (April 17), Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ibn Mizan of Tejgaon Division handed over the recovered phones to their rightful owners at an event in Shamoli, Dhaka.
According to police sources, the recovery was made over the past month with the help of technology. The distribution of recovered phones is as follows: 63 by Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police, 54 by Hatirjheel Police, 40 by Mohammadpur Police, 32 by Tejgaon Industrial Area Police, 32 by Adabor Police, and 30 by Tejgaon Police.
DC Ibn Mizan stated that a specialized team was formed to locate lost mobile phones using advanced techniques. Over the past few months, around 250 mobile phones have been recovered.
To prevent snatching, over 800 snatchers have been arrested in the last three months, with various measures such as block raids put in place to control the situation, he added.
