Students of government and private polytechnic institutes have announced a nationwide railway blockade on Thursday as part of their ongoing movement to press for six demands. They withdrew today's road blockade and declared the new program.
On Wednesday evening (April 16), Jubayer Patwari, a representative of the Technical Student Movement, made the announcement at Tejgaon Satrasta intersection in Dhaka. He stated that despite holding discussions with the Director General of the Directorate of Technical Education, Shoaib Ahmad Khan, and the principal of Dhaka Polytechnic, no agreement was reached. Since their demands were not accepted in writing, the students decided to proceed with the railway blockade.
He urged polytechnic students across the country to make the program successful. Earlier, students had staged blockades on major roads, including the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway.
