Dhaka, May 26, 2025: Kamrul Ahsan Sadhan, Joint Secretary of Gulshan Thana BNP, was killed in a random shooting in the Gudaraghat area of Madhya Badda, Dhaka, late Sunday night (May 25). The incident occurred near the residence of former commissioner Kaiyum.
According to reports, Sadhan was sitting at a tea stall opposite Kaiyum’s office on Gudaraghat’s Road No. 4, along with others, including Kaiyum’s nephew. Two masked gunmen suddenly opened fire, hitting Sadhan in the chest, back, and neck. He collapsed at the scene, and the attackers fled while firing additional shots into the air.
BNP activists and relatives rushed Sadhan to the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival. Police from Gulshan and Badda stations arrived at the scene to investigate.
Saiful Islam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Badda Police Station, confirmed the incident. He stated that the shooting occurred in Lane No. 4 of Gudaraghat, and initial findings indicate Sadhan was targeted while at the tea stall. The police are investigating to identify the perpetrators and their motives. Sadhan was a dish business trader by profession.
Eyewitnesses, including Sadhan’s nephew-in-law Ismail Hossain, reported that two masked shooters fired indiscriminately. The investigation is ongoing to uncover further details.
