Storm Warning Issued for 11 Districts with Winds Up to 60 km/h

Dhaka, May 14, 2025: The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has issued a storm warning for 11 districts, predicting winds of 45-60 km/h accompanied by rain or thunderstorms until 1:00 AM tonight. River ports in the affected areas have been instructed to hoist Cautionary Signal No. 1.

According to a forecast released on Wednesday (May 14) by the Meteorological Department, the districts of Rajshahi, Pabna, Kushtia, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Faridpur, Cumilla, Noakhali, Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, and Sylhet may experience temporary gusty or stormy winds from the west/northwest direction. The warning remains in effect until 1:00 AM.
The department has advised river ports in these regions to remain vigilant and display the cautionary signal to ensure safety.
