Hunt, Texas, July 7, 2025: At least 78 people have been killed and 41 remain missing following sudden flash floods in Texas, USA, triggered by heavy rainfall that caused the Guadalupe River near San Antonio to swell rapidly on Friday. Rescue operations are ongoing in the heavily affected city of Hunt, with images and reports captured by AFP on Sunday highlighting the scale of the disaster.
Rescue workers are conducting operations through the night, using torchlights to search for survivors. Boats and armored vehicles are being deployed to locate individuals swept away by the floodwaters. Efforts are also underway to repair damaged power lines and clear uprooted trees and debris.
