A tragic incident occurred in Koroi Bari village, under Bhangra Bazar in Muradnagar upazila of Cumilla, where three individuals, including a woman, were beaten to death by a mob. The incident took place at around 9:00 AM on Thursday, July 3, 2025.
According to reports, the victims were Rubi Akter (48), identified as a suspected drug trafficker, along with her son and daughter. They were allegedly killed in a mob beating. The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bhangra Bazar Police Station, Mahfuzur Rahman, confirmed the incident. Cumilla’s Superintendent of Police (SP), Nazir Ahmed Khan, has already arrived at the scene. While there was some tension in the area following the incident, the situation is currently under control, with additional police forces deployed to maintain order. ---
