Two Bodies Recovered from Car in Sirajul Islam Medical College Parking Lot

Dhaka, August 11, 2025 – Police recovered the bodies of two men from a private car parked in the basement of Sirajul Islam Medical College and Hospital in Dhaka’s Mouchak area on Monday morning around 11:45 AM. The identities of the deceased, both males believed to be aged between 35 and 40, have not yet been confirmed.

According to hospital authorities, the white private car entered the hospital’s underground parking lot around 5:30 AM on Sunday, August 10. The vehicle remained stationary, prompting suspicion. The hospital’s chief security guard, during a routine check on Monday morning, noticed two individuals inside the car. Initially assuming they were asleep, he attempted to call out to them but received no response, leading him to realize they were deceased. The hospital promptly informed the police.

Masud Alam, Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Ramna Division, confirmed that the car’s owner has been identified. The owner reportedly visited the hospital early Sunday to see a relative under treatment, leaving the driver and an associate in the vehicle. “We have not identified the deceased yet, but we know one was the driver and the other his associate,” Alam told the media. When asked whether the incident is a homicide or otherwise, Alam stated that a forensic team from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is examining the scene. The bodies have been sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy, and CCTV footage is being analyzed. “We are awaiting the car owner’s arrival and the completion of all investigations, including the autopsy and forensic analysis, to determine whether this is a homicide or something else,” he added.

The investigation is ongoing, with authorities hopeful that further details will clarify the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
