A major drug bust in Gauripur, Mymensingh, has led to the arrest of a father-in-law and son-in-law duo in possession of 1,800 yaba pills. The operation was conducted on Saturday (April 19) in Tangatipara village of Bokainagar Union, following intelligence reports.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Sajib Ahmed, son of Abdul Kaddus, and his father-in-law, Md. Rois Uddin, both residents of Tangatipara. Inspector Chandan Gopal Sur of the Department of Narcotics Control stated that a raid was carried out in the area based on confidential information
During the operation, authorities searched Sajib Ahmed’s body and residence, recovering a significant quantity of yaba pills. According to officials, Sajib had been using his father-in-law’s voter ID card to obtain SIM cards, facilitating his drug trade for an extended period.
The Department of Narcotics Control has confirmed that a formal case has been filed at Gauripur Police Station against the accused. They are now in custody, and legal proceedings are underway.
