May 15, 2025 :The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has issued a storm warning for 15 regions, including Dhaka, predicting winds of up to 60 km/h by 1:00 AM tonight. River ports in these areas have been instructed to display cautionary signal number one.
According to Meteorologist Md. Tariful Newaz Kabir, regions including Rajshahi, Pabna, Tangail, Mymensingh, Jashore, Kushtia, Dhaka, Faridpur, Madaripur, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, and Sylhet may experience temporary gusty or stormy winds from the west/northwest, accompanied by rain or thunderstorms.
The department also forecasted that by 9:00 AM tomorrow, parts of Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions, along with isolated areas in Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions, may see gusty winds, lightning, and rain or thunderstorms. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is possible in some areas of Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet.
Daytime temperatures across the country are expected to slightly decrease today, while nighttime temperatures will remain largely unchanged. A mild to moderate heatwave is affecting Faridpur, Madaripur, Gopalganj, Manikganj, Narayanganj, Rajshahi, Pabna, Sirajganj, Chandpur, and parts of Khulna and Barishal divisions, but it may subside in some areas.
